Still going strong. I finally told my girlfriend, Christy, on Saturday night. She was so excited. Not much else to write about. Just going about my life.

I know they say the first x days are the hardest... x=?
The 3rd and 4th day have always been the hardest.... the 2nd month, once you start getting more comfortable and letting your guard down a bit.
3rd and 4th ARE the hardest...Know why? The nicotine has left your body-but the behavioral portion is still alive and well. You're kind of a schizophrenic at that point.
Good girl!
You're doing it! Keep going! It's time to give yourself little non-food/smoking oriented rewards as you go...you set the milestones. (Not food, 'cause that starts a different dependency/issue.) A new piece of clothing, jewelry, book, fragrance, whatever you like...and treat yourself to little trips to new places, not too far away.
Standing ovation [picture me standing up clapping very hard and loud]!!
hi Natasha. I quit smoking myself a couple of weeks ago. Actually June 23 was my last. I'm casual about the date because I was a casual, "social" smoker. FOR 23 YEARS! I'd quit during pregnacies and cut down at other times. But whenever things got really tough, I'd always indulge in a pack and a couple smokes a night. And i did not like letting that go.
But it was time. Recently, A very good friend told me I'd better quit - a friend who's never been tolerant of my habit - a friend who on June 16th died of cancer. I quit for her.
Congratulations to both of us.
Thanks guys! I appreciate your support and encouragement!
