alone

I just love good quotes, as i am sure most of you do too.

"We, who are so schooled in the art of listening to the voices of others, can often hear our own voice only when we are alone... For many women, the first choice, then, is to give ourselves the necessary time and space in which to renew our acquaintance with our lost voice, to learn to recognize it, and to rejoice as we hear it express our truth."

Ode to Long Island Sound

I'm sure most of you keep up with local politics and happenings. Well here is an interesting blog about a man who is camping out on the beach in Wading River for 35 days to "protest" Broadwater. With the help of Denise over at the Times Review, this man will take note of each day during his vigil.

See you next week! I'll have lots of pictures and no doubt a blog or two on my weekend.

Happy Father's Day!

my very own octopus!

Tossing and turning. Restless moaning. Endless thrashing about. No, it’s not the Amityville Horror. I’m talking about the flailing octopus that sleeps next to me every night - the one who wacks, smacks, and kicks me the whole night through, then insists on 30-45 minutes of snooze alarm in the morning. I’m dying here people! What have I subjected myself to? I'm starting to wonder if sleeping alone was all that bad before I met Mr. Restless-sleeper?

Sings to self… “The things we do for love..oh oh”.
